Remark:
The health insurance records indicate that Martin Rom was employed in Vienna from 1889 to 1891. At the same time, a Thekla Rom was also insured. It is unclear whether Martin and Thekla were married, had another familial relationship, or whether the coincidence of names was merely accidental.

Martin Rom marked the playing cards he produced with "Ferd. Pittner Nachfolger" (successor). Since Flora Pittner had done the same, it is impossible to determine who printed the playing cards marked in this way.

Martin Rom was from 1896 chairman of a committee of the regional association of photographers (which, among other professions, also included lithographers, copperplate printers, engravers, and playing card manufacturers). At the 1899 annual meeting, it was announced that the card painter had surrendered his trade license the previous year.
According to the tax authorities, the factory last paid taxes on playing cards (19,416 packs) in 1897.
